Strategy, language, and design for brands with meaning.
Before a brand
takes shape, it needs to
find meaning.
Estúdio Hiru brings strategy, naming, and visual identity together to turn ideas into clear, relevant, and recognizable brands.

A brand begins before its visual form.
It begins with the right question, careful listening, and the courage to choose a direction of its own. We build each project in that space between strategy and sensitivity.
Our work clarifies what a brand wants to say, finds the words that make it memorable, and creates a visual expression that can carry it into its next chapter.
Three disciplines.
One coherent direction.
Strategy
Before we design, we need to understand. Strategy looks at the business, the context in which it operates, and the people the brand wants to connect with. It helps us identify what makes the brand distinctive, the needs it serves, and how it can earn a relevant place in the market.
This understanding shapes positioning, the value proposition, and the messages that guide the project. Its purpose is to give decisions clear criteria: what to communicate, to whom, and why. The name and identity then grow from a shared direction, with choices grounded in the brand’s reality and goals.
Naming
A name is one of the first ways a brand introduces itself. Naming turns its essence and positioning into a verbal expression: a meaningful word that resonates with its audience and can grow with the business over time.
We explore creative directions, considering sound, spelling, pronunciation, and the associations each option may evoke. The goal is to find a name that sets the brand apart, makes it memorable, and supports the story it wants to tell. Each option is evaluated within the project’s context so the choice has a clear rationale.
Identity
Visual identity translates a brand’s direction into a recognizable language. The logo, colors, typography, imagery, and composition work together to express its personality. The aim is to build a system that remains consistent across formats and contexts.
Beyond defining how a brand looks, this work establishes how its visual elements relate to one another. Identity guides applications across print and digital materials, creating a coherent presence at every touchpoint. Its purpose is to make the brand easier to recognize and bring unity to communication, with visual tools the team can use to present the brand clearly.
HIRU: four letters.
A holistic view of branding.
Holistic: At Hiru, a brand is more than a logo or a set of disconnected services. We look at the whole ecosystem, bringing strategy, identity, websites, and paid media together around a single essence. When each part strengthens the others, the brand gains clarity and momentum.
Innovative: Innovation isn’t technology for its own sake. It means using digital experiences with intention to amplify a well-defined identity, never to compensate for what the brand has yet to resolve.
Relevant: We’re not chasing generic attention. We help brands earn a distinctive, valuable place in people’s minds and lives. Being seen is only the beginning; a brand needs to matter, build connection, and be chosen.
Utopian: Excellence and ethics are our north star—an ideal we may never fully reach, yet one that guides every decision. It upholds the studio’s standards and gives us the judgment and courage to turn down projects that don’t align with this vision.
HIRU isn’t a decorative acronym. It’s the principle that brings thought, craft, and responsibility together in everything we do.
